SEPTEMBER 12-17, 2022
MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
"Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request."1 Chronicles 4:10 NIV
This week our Director of Intercession led a powerful time of prayer at our team meeting. We use the Jabez prayer as a guide to pray for favor, influence, anointing and protection. We pray all this and God granting our request.
We saw God's blessing and his favor this week by meeting with -Pontes- and reinforcing the alliance for the area of Member Success. He expanded our territory by connecting us with brothers in the kingdom to form the first alliances with ministries in India and Pakistan. His spirit anointing guided us to start the ministry website and this newsletter and we enjoyed his protection at the hearty lunch that the Chiang Dao church leaders invited us to.
For all this we give glory to God!
Thanks to all Latin-American church, our team and you for your prayers and continued support.
LIBERTAD #29 SHEIKH PAKISTAN
"The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” Matthew 4:16 NIV
This week we interceded for the Sheikh, the ethnic group located in southern Pakistan. The Sheik are one of the largest least reached ethnic groups in the world, this means that they have a population of 12 million inhabitants and less than 1% of Christians. Their language is Punjabi and they mainly practice Islam.
These are the prayer points for this ethnic group that came out from the meeting:
For the call of people among us to go as workers to this ethnic group.
For the children of this region so that they can grow up seeing the light of the kingdom.
Fut the authorities of this ethnic group.
To use sports, such as football, to reach this ethnic group.
Celebrate the beginning of the harvest.
Fut overcoming a great barrier of fear between America and Asia.
Thank God that He has the power to reach any ethnic group.
For the Lord to remove the darkness and shine his Light.
So that the military forces are transformed into forces of peace.
We meet every week. If you want to be part of this movement leave us your message.
Drafting CENTRAL's project.
Thanks to the contacts we made last October, at the quadrennial meeting of the Alliance World Fellowship in Ecuador, we contacted a brother in Chile, who is a university professor of projects, to request his help. He helped us with a template that he designed specifically for the development and writing of CENTRAL's project. This is a great base and structure that will guide the drafting process of the full ministry project.
Some weeks ago we received a call from an American ministry (CTT) that is dedicated to training and mentoring new cross-cultural training efforts. They helped us with a 110 questionnaire that guides the process of starting a cross-cultural training center. They promised to mentor us in the process and we will have periodic meetings for it.
Thanks be to God for all of this, starting this week we started writing CENTRAL's project.
Lunch with Chiang Dao's Church
Pastor Kumpee from Creator's Church invited us to accompany him on a trip to Chiang Dao Canton where we met the Senior Pastor and Assistant Pastors from Chiang Dao's Church.
Currently they are dedicated to reaching different ethnic groups that live in that region. We were blessed with freesh grapes and other local fruits, cold drinks, locally grown green tea and delicious food. We were able to pray for them and initiate conversations so that their churches have the coverage of the Creator Church. The relationship with Pastor Kumpee was strengthened during this trip with a impresive lunch and when we talked in the car about the difference between the "Christian Is" and the "Christian do".
Business as Mission Convention (BAM Global)
This week we attended the BAM Global convention which for this year, just like the previous two years, was done virtually.
We were able to make several contacts and entered the WhatsApp chat of the Business as mission Network from Latin America. We followed a workshop where we learned how to present a written project to obtain BAM investors and we got inspired by listening to the stories of several successful projects that, doing business, have generated a great impact on society and the lives of these people. We were mainly impacted by a large project in Africa. You can see what it is about here: https://youtu.be/BqN8dfLP91w
Business as a mission is a great strategy to enter the least reached peoples carrying the word of God blessing families with jobs and better opportunities for their personal, professional and spiritual development.
First CENTRAL's alliance with ministry in Pakistan
We use a pseudonym for security reasons.
This week we received a call from “Suárez” a brother from Pakistan that we recently met. He called us to introduce us to “Nazarene”, an ethnic Punjabi (sheikh) pastor and missionary from Pakistan, who came to Chiang Mai for a mobilization convention. We met in a coffee shop and started talking.
In that first meeting we learned about his ministry and the different projects that are being developed there. Pakistan is the second largest country with a Muslim majority after Indonesia. He told us about the different challenges faced by new believers in Pakistan and the missionary efforts that the ministry makes to reach its own people. We shared with him the vision of CENTRAL and our interest in collaborating with them for the extension of the kingdom of God in the least reached ethnic groups of that country and thus the door was opened to explore a collaborative alliance.
What do you normally do on a Friday night? This Friday, 9:30 at night, after the youth's celebration of praise and prayer from our local thai church, we went to visit "Nazareno" in the complex where he is staying for this week. We had a very productive meeting where we agreed on the next steps to connect the two ministries and collaborate with the church in Pakistan to reach the least reached people groups. A visit to the ministry is planned for the month of February 2023 where we will visit some of the least reached ethnic groups in Pakistan, give a Missions workshop in the church and preach outdoors to a Muslim audience.
In that same place, after our meeting, Lola approached some brothers who had some food on their table. We were invited to try what they had there and chatted with "George", a herdsman from India who graciously offered us a delicious Biryani plate and Indian-style spiced chicken. They also expressed their interest in exploring a collaboration with the ministry of CENTRAL for their missionary work with the least reached ethnic groups in India.
Meeting with Pontes for Member Success
Diogo is a clinical psychologist, Brazilian missionary and expert in member care for workers from the global south. He currently serves as a counselor at a member care center here in Chiang mai city. -Pontes- (“Bridges” in Portuguese) is a member care pioneering effort for workers from the global south that will start from next year in Malaga-Spain.
We had a very good meeting with agreements for our future work. Pontes and Diogo will collaborate in CENTRAL's member care project called: -Member Success-. Together we will design different member care programs with the goal of guiding new Latino workers in their call to missions, equipping them with useful tools, and accompanying them to succeed on their heroic journey.
We are excited to be able to work together in Spanish and Portuguese to care for workers from all over Latin-America and thus help the Latino church have successful workers on the mission field.
Beginning of CENTRAL's website.
We are happy and grateful to God because this week we launched the ministry's website. This will help us as a tool for communication and contact with other ministries, churches and mission candidates. It is thanks to this that we can start the CENTRAL NEWS today.
We will be continually reporting the progress of the ministry through this way that we believe will be of great blessing, influence, anointing and protection for the kingdom of God.
